TRAVEL GURUS TERMS & CONDITIONS
IMPORTANT: By booking with Travel Gurus (whether online, by phone, by email, or in person), you are deemed to have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions in full. These Terms apply to all travel services arranged through Travel Gurus, including but not limited to flights, hotels, tours, packages, cruises, rail, transfers, car rentals, insurance and other travel services.
1. Agency Relationship
Travel Gurus acts solely as a travel agent and does not operate, own, or control any of the travel services booked on your behalf. All services are provided by independent third-party suppliers (“Service Providers”), including airlines, hotels, tour operators, cruise lines, and insurance providers.
When you make payment to Travel Gurus, you authorize us to act as your agent in securing services with Service Providers. Your contract for travel services is with the relevant Service Provider(s), and their own terms and conditions apply in addition to ours. Travel Gurus is not responsible for the acts, omissions, service quality, or financial condition of any Service Provider.
2. Cancellations, Changes & Refunds
-
All payments made to Travel Gurus are strictly non-refundable. This applies to flights, hotels, packages, tours, cruises, rail, car rentals, and all other travel services. Unless otherwise stated in writing on your invoice.
-
Most travel services are 100% non-refundable and non-changeable once booked. Travel Insurance is the only way to ensure protection for covered cancellation reasons.
-
Where a Service Provider permits a partial refund or credit, Travel Gurus will deduct an agency cancellation fee for our time and services rendered before releasing any applicable refund. This fee is in addition to any penalties imposed by the Service Provider.
-
Refunds, if available, are not guaranteed and remain subject solely to the policies of the Service Provider. Travel Gurus is not responsible for the processing time of any refund or credit.
-
By confirming your booking, you acknowledge and agree that Travel Gurus retains the right to collect cancellation/service fees regardless of whether a supplier refund is issued.
3. Documentation (Passports, Visas & Entry Requirements)
-
It is your sole responsibility to ensure that you and all travelers in your booking have valid passports, visas, permits, and any required travel documentation for your destination(s) and return to Canada.
-
A valid passport is the only universally accepted travel document. Other documents may result in denied boarding or entry.
-
For children or minors traveling alone, with one parent/guardian, or with third parties, additional documentation such as birth certificates, custody papers, and consent letters may be required. Travel Gurus will provide guidance but ultimate responsibility rests with you.
4. Check-In & Flight Requirements
-
Passengers must check in at least 2 hours prior to domestic flights and 3 hours prior to international flights.
-
All travelers must present valid passports/visas and boarding passes. Failure to arrive on time or with proper documents will result in denied boarding, with no refund or compensation.
-
Airlines may change flight schedules at any time. Travel Gurus is not responsible for missed flights, connections, or schedule changes.
5. Fees, Taxes & Local Charges
-
Some airline baggage fees, taxes, airport fees, hotel resort fees, or local government charges may not be included in your booking price and are payable locally at destination.
-
Travel Gurus makes every effort to advise of such charges but is not liable for missed or newly imposed locally collected fees.
6. Travel Insurance
-
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all travelers, covering cancellation, interruption, medical, and baggage.
-
If your invoice/itinerary does not display an insurance policy number, you are deemed to have declined coverage.
-
Travel Gurus is not liable for denied or restricted claims under any insurance policy.
7. Accuracy of Information & Requests
-
All passenger names must match exactly as shown on passports. Errors or corrections after booking will result in fees and possible denial of boarding by the airline.
-
Special requests (seat selection, meals, room types, accessibility needs) are not guaranteed and are subject to Service Provider availability.
8. Pricing & Availability
-
All prices are per person, based on double occupancy, unless otherwise stated.
-
Prices are subject to change at any time by Service Providers, even after booking.
-
No price adjustments will be made if a lower rate becomes available after purchase. Unless the Supplier, Airline, Hotel or Travel Provider allows it.
-
Bookings are not guaranteed until ticketed/confirmed and marked “CONFIRMED” on your Travel Gurus invoice.
9. Liability Disclaimer
Travel Gurus is not responsible for:
-
Acts, errors, or omissions of Service Providers;
-
Flight delays, overbookings, schedule changes, or cancellations;
-
Losses, damages, injuries, or expenses resulting from weather, strikes, terrorism, pandemics, natural disasters, or government actions;
-
Traveler’s failure to obtain required documents or comply with Service Provider policies.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Travel Gurus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your booking.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Edmonton, Alberta.
11. Agreement
By booking travel services through Travel Gurus (online, by phone, by email, or in person), you:
-
Confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions;
-
Agree to be bound by both these Terms and the Service Provider’s own conditions of carriage/sale;
